Last Friday, on March 31st, ESU celebrated
World Backup Day! World backup Day is a world-wide initiative designed to raise
awareness of the need to back up important data regularly. This year, we joined
the initiative in celebrating and held a campus-wide event. In four short
sessions throughout the day, we explained what a backup is and why data should
be backed up. Faculty/staff members and students watched a video which
highlighted the importance of backing up and were introduced to different
options of backing up their data. We explained the advantages and disadvantages
of each option and encouraged participants to choose the option they felt most
comfortable with, based on their individual needs. At the end of each session,
we all took the pledge to back up important documents.
We were especially excited to offer a drawing for a 3TB
My Cloud personal storage drive! The device is an excellent option to back up
data, as it attaches to your home network and provides you with your own
personal cloud space. All your devices, including smartTVs and some printers
can be connected, so that you can store all your files in one convenient
location. We are excited to announce the lucky winner of the drawing is Gabriel
Sams, a Physical Education student.
