myIT Tip of the Week

Clearing Your Browser Cache
Each time you access a page through your browser it caches (stores) information. Clearing the cache cleans out the browser and can make sites run better. If you are having trouble accessing a website it may help to clear out your browser.

Clearing your browser cache can be simple, here are the steps:

Chrome:
1) Click on the three little dots in the top right corner and select history.
2) Then select History again.
3) When you get to your history, you should clear it, for all time (found in the drop-down box). Doing this also clears out your cache.
4) Make sure all boxes are selected so you can you clear everything and not just history.

Firefox:
1) You will need to click on the little icon that looks like books leaning on each other.
2) Open the history option and click clear recent history.
3) Make sure all the boxes are checked and click now, "Clear Now."

Safari:
1) You will need to have Safari open and click on the Safari drop-down menu.
2) Click preferences and choose the Advanced tab
3) Select the Show Develop in menu bar checkbox and close preferences.
4) Select the develop drop-down menu and click Empty Caches
